About Pizza Wagon's Catering Services
The Pizza Wagon Catering Company, Inc. was born out of years of restaurant, culinary and food service experience all culminating into a unique food truck catering concept. We are a family-owned and family-run business, not a franchise operation.
Joshua Goldstein, head chef and owner of the Pizza Wagon, attended The Art Institute of Philadelphia and trained for five years under Chef Martin Hamann at The Fountain Restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. During that time, The Fountain Restaurant was one of only two Philadelphia restaurants to receive a perfect Four Bell score from discerning Philadelphia restaurant critic, Craig LaBan, as well as a prestigious Five Diamond Award from AAA. Following his tenure at the Four Seasons, Joshua worked in food sales, brand marketing and restaurant consultancy in the Philadelphia region.
It is during this time that pizza became a passion for Joshua and his family. Their passion led them on a global quest for great pizza sampling offerings from acclaimed pizzerias in New York, San Francisco, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Napa Valley and, of course, Italia!
Joshua and his wife envisioned a wood burning pizza oven as a centerpiece for their backyard entertaining, allowing friends and family to enjoy the pizzas they were crafting and perfecting at home.
As they began to research ovens for the backyard, it readily became apparent that a unique opportunity existed for a mobile pizza catering business with endless possibilities: graduation parties, weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, baby showers, wedding showers, golf outings, retirement parties, etc.
Thus, The Pizza Wagon was born.
Rough sketches for the Pizza Wagon were drawn on napkins one night over dinner and a bottle of wine. The concept and excitement around it grew as Joshua's father, Howard Goldstein, helped conceive the business model and joined as a co-owner. Eventually, those same sketches were brought to life in Lansdale, Pennsylvania where The Pizza Wagon was custom fabricated.
